The Week that Was
Here's an Andy Rooney question for you: Why is it that Republicans, who for decades didn't care that millions of people every year lost their health insurance, are suddenly so alarmed? Could it have something to do with Obama and Obamacare? I think so.................. This week Sarah Palin, early 21st Century rip-off artist and one-time unsuccessful politician, accused Pope Francis of being a liberal. "It's like he thinks the Bible says we should take care of poor people," she said incredulously. We'll see how that works out for her............ ............................. ............................ White supremicist Craig Cobb from Leith, North Dakota, as a result of a DNA test, found out he is 14% Sub-Saharan African (black). He has been trying to create, unsuccessfully to North Dakota's credit, an all white enclave in Leith. That he might be disqualified from his own village has got to be one of the better examples of post-modern irony...................................................................... In Britain, a British spy's decomposed body was found naked in a locked gym bag in his bath tub. In typical British understatement, police ruled it "accidental." Police have not yet come up with a satisfactory explanation. No kidding.................................................................................... And Kentucky Tea Party Senator Rand Paul, thoroughly annoyed by the discovery of his serial plagiarizing, is now footnoting his balonic nonsense............. ..................... .................... ................. A member of the House Republican Science Committee doesn't believe that 500 years of pumping trillions of tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere causes global warming; but he warns that building too many electricity generating windmills might slow the wind down and warm the atmosphere. I can't wrap my head around that.............................................................................. And in a response to the troubled launch of Obamacare, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Preibus pledged today that if and when Republicans ever decide to develop an alternative health care plan, their website will work. He added, "In fact, the only reason Republicans have not offered an alternative to Obamacare over the last five years, or offered anything resembling a plan to get health insurance to the 40 million uninsured Americans over the past 30 years, is that we've been working on the website."
