Mitt's Bad Week

Mitt Romney and Republicans had a bad week: People were still incredulously chuckling about Mitt's claim that he'd take credit for saving the US auto industry, and then Mitt changed the subject to his apology for rounding up a posse in his private boarding school to assault a gay kid and cut off his hair. Mitt organized the event and did the scissor work according to his high school classmates. "Sorry if I offended anybody when we overpowered that gay kid and cut off his hair," laughed Mitt on Fox News this morning. "I don't remember the incident," he said. A classmate characterized Mitt as a "Lord of the Flies" kind of guy. In hindsight, the fact that his Yearbook listed "Lord of the Flies" as his favorite book and "torturing cats" as one of his hobbies should have been a red flag. The Republicans are having four times married Rush Limbaugh take the lead in defending against the "war on marriage" which is President Obama's new found evolved position that gay marriage should be supported. It's a touchy subject for Mitt with his great grandfather and five great grandmothers down there in Mexico. Worse yet, gas prices are dropping and the unemployment rate went down a bit; and finally, worst of all, the US ran a budget surplus of $58 billion in April mostly due to tax receipts. Republicans, always optimistic, are still hoping for bad economic news in the sluggish economy. "We still want to take $5 or $6 Trillion out of the economy, tax poor people to give billionaires more money, and add at least $2 Trillion to the Pentagon's budget all paid for cuts in Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and just about everything," said a Republican spokesperson. "If that won't ruin the economy, I don't know what will. But we're running out of time," he said.
